Freelancers are usually responsible for their own bookkeeping, tax payments, and insurance. Depending on the country, different regulations may apply here.
There are various platforms on which freelancers can offer their services, such as Upwork, Freelancer or Fiverr. These platforms provide a way to find potential customers and make payment processing easier. However, it is also possible to work directly with clients outside of such platforms.
